Affiliate disclosure

Transparency is a core principle of Reykjavik Trip. This page explains how the site earns money and how — if at all — that affects what you read.

Our affiliate programmes

Reykjavik Trip participates in two affiliate programmes:

  • GetYourGuide — an online marketplace for tours, activities and experiences. We earn a commission when you click our links and complete a booking on GetYourGuide.
  • Viator (Partner ID: P00305208; Viator is a Tripadvisor company) — another leading marketplace for tours and activities worldwide, including Iceland. We earn a commission when you click our Viator links and complete a booking on their platform.

This commission is paid by the platform from their margin — it does not add any cost to your booking. You pay exactly the same price whether you use our link or go directly to the GetYourGuide or Viator website. See GetYourGuide's privacy policy and Viator's privacy policy.

Our active affiliate partners

As of the date of publication, GetYourGuide and Viator are the only affiliate programmes active on this site. We do not have affiliate relationships with hotels, airlines, car rental companies, insurance providers or any other travel sector. If that changes, this page will be updated accordingly.

Does affiliation affect our recommendations?

We make every effort to ensure that our affiliate relationships do not bias our editorial content:

  • We only link to tours that we believe offer genuine value. If a tour is overpriced, poorly reviewed or a tourist trap, we say so — and we do not link to it.
  • We actively write about common pitfalls in Iceland, including guides that help travellers avoid being overcharged on tours or transfers.
  • Where free or self-guided alternatives are better than a paid tour, we recommend them.
  • The editorial team selects which tours appear on the site independently of any performance or revenue data.

How to identify affiliate links

Links that point to GetYourGuide or Viator contain the attribute rel="sponsored nofollow" in their HTML, as required by Google's guidelines and standard practice. Buttons labelled "Check availability", "Book now" or "See prices" are affiliate links. We do not disguise affiliate links as editorial text without disclosure.

Iceland-specific note

Iceland is an EEA member state. Tours and activities on GetYourGuide and Viator for Reykjavik and Iceland are subject to Icelandic and EEA consumer protection law. GetYourGuide GmbH is headquartered in Berlin, Germany. Viator is operated by Tripadvisor LLC.
